Where can I find study spaces in the library?

All floors of the Ronald Williams Library are available for use without advance reservations, providing study space with access to WiFi, copiers, B/W and color printers, scanners, and 16 PCs on the first and second floors.

If you need to attend an online class or Zoom meeting while on campus, we have space for you at the NEIU Libraries.

If you have your own laptop and headset, and you don't need to talk or play audio out loud, try:

  • study carrels on the Lower Level
  • study carrels on the 2nd floor
  • tables on the 4th floor

Headsets are also available by request at the Reference Desk or Tech Desk on the 1st floor.

If you need more solitude or have to speak out loud, you can reserve a spot in one of these rooms in the library and check out a key from the Circulation Desk on the first floor:

  • Small study rooms (LIB 212 or LIB 213):
    • Computer (no webcam), table, chairs for four
  • Media viewing rooms (LIB 355A or LIB 355B):
    • No computer, no webcam, large monitor, plug your laptop into HDMI port
  • Recording studios (LIB 303 or LIB 355C):
    • PC or Mac computer, webcam, Zoom installed

There are also individual study spaces available at the El Centro and CCICS campuses.
